The Arts and Education Council's bi-monthly publication, Happenings, underwent a gradual one-year redesign with the intention of transforming it from a newsletter format to magazine.
Step One: redesign the internal event calendar to increase visual appeal

Step Two: Begin to clean up cover, remove bottom contents banner
September/October 2015 Issue
Step Three: Complete cover redesign. Replace top banner with a cleaner heading. Remove contents from cover, replace with single issue title.
January/February 2016
Step Four: Inside cover redesign. Contents listed on interior page, board and staff listing moved to back inside cover, cover image 'window' added
January/February 2016
Step Five: Increase use of photos and call-out boxes within articles, including bleeds.
